The Explorer's Resuce

A few years ago  there were  explorers who were in Antarctica. It was very cold there. Their boat was sinking and sinking. 

The people called help! Help! but no one heard a noise until…An aeroplane heard the noise of the people yelling help me please help!

The aeroplane flew down to save the people from drowning in the icy cold water.

Santa at the beach! By Elizabeth

Last weekend you won't  believe what I saw down the road at the beach. I saw Mrs Claus sun bathing at the beach! Santa Claus was surfing on the surfboard out in the ocean. There was a problem, Santa fell off his surfboard and into the water! When he was swimming away a shark was following him at the back of him, but the shark was scared by the dolphin, it came and bumped off the shark and scared it away. Santa and Mrs Claus lived happily ever after.

Myztique's holiday story

In the holidays the best thing was when I went rock climbing with my holiday programme.

The worst day was when I went to the museum because it was boring.

The best part of my holidays was when I went to paintball and shot my Mum, Dad and my big sisters Paige and Sammie.

In the weekend I went to my Uncle's wedding it was at one tree hill. My little  cousin was the ring boy. I went  to my Uncle's wedding with my Nana and my Papa. It was very cool. Me and my cousins danced for my Uncle. We had lots of money. I felt happy. My uncle got married.

Yesterday after school I was walking in the rain and I saw saw a hairy black dog. After that I saw a black and orange cat that looked like a tiger, then I saw a blue monster truck. 

Richard's Story

Last Thursday we saw Will.i.am at school and it was on the news it was on channel one. I felt amazing and we sang strive to succeed, then after that the senior kapa Haka performed and they were amazing, so was the senior hip hop. Will.i.am gave $100,000 to Pt England (Manaiakalani) and we gave him a Koha. He is famous and funny.

Lyi Sorn's Story

   Yesterday   we  had  tuakana  teina  sports  it   is fun.  We  played  "how   do   you  do"  and "octopus".  My  favourite  part  was  "flush  the toilet"   it was so  much  fun!  Next  time  I would  like to play again  with Anthony  and  Reihan.

Elizabeth's Story

Last  Friday  we   went  for   a  picnic it  was fun and it was good. I  played with my  friends at the  park. It  was very  sunny and  hot. We went to the beach  and we made sand castles. Then I changed my  clothes and went for a  swim. I had lunch with my friends. I was tired and hungry. My lunch was good. The picnic was fun.

Yesterday was Mother's day. I made a card for my Mum, it was a beautiful card my mum liked my card . I was very happy and I said happy Mother's day.

Maths In Room 9

Te Reo in room 9

Today Whaea Raewyn came in to room nine to teach us some Te Reo we learnt the days of the week in Maori.

We learnt that they are:

Rāhina - Monday

Rātū - Tuesday

Rāapa - Wednesday

Rāpare - Thursday

Rāmere - Friday

Rāhoroi - Saturday

Rātapu - Sunday

We love our lessons with Whaea Raewyn as we always learn so much!

Our BIG suprise! Mr Will.i.am...

That is right whanau and friends, manaiakalani education trust were gifted with a large and generous donation from world famous singer Will.i.am and his foundation i.am.angel at school today!!!

It was an amazing experience for all who were involved and we cannot thank Will.i.am and his foundation enough!

P.S.I - Pt England School Investigates

This term in room 9, all of the students are going to become scientists! We will be investigating all sorts of cool things, we are guaranteed to have a really fun time with loads of experiments too! The big question we will be asking ourselves is: "What will happen if...?"

In the weekend I played games with my dad. We played robox.

Atareita's Easter Weekend Story

In easter easter weekend I played paint ball with my family.I shot my mum and dad and brothers and sisters.I was the winner because I didn’t get shot. After paintball we went ice skating at ice paradise. I skated really,really well.Then there was a challenge and only the kids were allowed to enter.I entered the challenge.I won lollys for the challenge because I won.The challenge was a dance off and a race.Then after ice skating we went home and watched television.Then we had dinner.We had chicken and chips and for dessert we had a chocolate cake with chocolate icing on top.

The Storm

On the school picnic while we were walking I imagined that there was a storm and there was lightening and thunder and rain and hail and heaps and heaps of black clouds and me and my friends and teacher nearly got struck by lightening.

Then the whole of Pt England School ran back to school, grabbed their stuff and went home and told their mums and dads and they were all scared.Then the next day the storm was finished and that day we had our picnic.

Christmas Story

I love Christmas because the snow looks like rain falling down . With snow you can make snowmen and snowballs.

I went round and round and made lots of big bubbles and little bubbles .

I also tried blowing the bubbles. I could see a lot of colours in my bubbles.

The best part was spinning around because then I could make heaps of bubbles.

Making Play Doh in Room 9

One the 2nd day of term 1 in room 9 each table group had the chance to make some play doh!

David's holiday story

My favourite thing in the holidays, was when it was time to come back to school because I missed all my friends at school. 

In the holidays I went to my dads house. It was fun!  

Atareita's holiday story

On Christmas I went to my aunty’s house because it was her birthday and she wanted us to come. I ate more food then everyone there, I enjoyed it! 

The best part of my holidays was going to rainbows end with my family. We all went on the fear fall. We all loved it. 

The worst part of my holidays was seeing my aunty’s pet cat get run over by a really big truck, we thought the cat was alright, but it died. All of us cried especially my aunty.  It was horrible.

First day back at school!

Today was a wonderful day! The students in room 9 all settled in very well,
we all had a lot of fun getting to know each other and making new friends!

Although the weather wasn't the best, we still managed to get outside for a short
game, tomorrow we are looking forward to another GREAT day!!

Woohoo! The holidays are nearly over!

Woohoo! Only three more sleeps until you are all back at school! I am very excited to meet all of my new students. I know that we will have a great year learning together in 2013.

I have had a wonderful holiday, the weather has been beautiful for us, so my husband and I have been to the beach lots, we even had the chance to go camping in Hamilton which was lots of fun!

I hope you all enjoy your last weekend before school starts again, and I'm looking forward to seeing you in the hall on Monday morning!!
